My latest custom sock monkeys, Weedy and Laurie, may look familiar. That’s because they’re modeled after Gracie and Lauren. See the resemblance? They make nice twins! Weedy comes with a yellow and blue knit hoodie with ladybug while Laurie wears a classic yellow and pink heart sweatshirt hoodie.

Weedy and Laurie will also be living in their hometown city of Seattle, where I created the very 1st Mars Sock Monkey back in 2007. Today, being that it’s also my last day of living in the rainy city, marks Weedy and Laurie as the 84th and 85th Mars Sock Monkeys made in the history of Maribel Made! I’m really excited to see what new sock monkey adventures await for us in Brooklyn.

If you’re interested in a custom Mars Sock Monkey you can email me at maribelmade at gmail dot com for more info. Stay tuned for more cute sock monkey madness. :)

Spring is in full swing at Maribel Made. It’s also a great time to tell you about the newest batch of Spring inspired Mars Sock Monkeys! They’re cute and colorful since they’re made from multi-color plaid and rainbow stripe socks. Their sweatshirts also come in brightly colored solids mixed with some fun prints. The felt designs on the front include a bird, a sunflower, an apple, a daisy and a star.  :)

Get your sock monkey now because these may be some of the last sock monkeys I make before I try relocating to NY. Wish me luck! “Spring” Mars Sock Monkeys are available on Etsy.

We’re officially moving back to Seattle at the end of the month! Having lived in London gave me some great perspective. I’m going to miss the big city like I always seem to miss big cities. We’re just about down to two weeks of our London stay, but I’m looking forward to the new things ahead!

Of course, the bad thing about moving is always the actual move. Going through tons of stuff, packing, selling, donating and cleaning could be nightmarish. In our last move from Seattle here, I got rid of mostly everything we owned and shipped only a few things. It was sad. I’m just getting over not owning anything. I did a lot of scanning this time, but even if loose my backups I’m thinking, oh well! It’s so freeing not having things. I like the feeling a lot. It’s almost like being debt free!

There are some things I’m taking with me that can’t be replaced though…our monkey box and my vintage fabric. This along with some sock monkey making supplies will go in my luggage even if I have to replace my clothes with them. :)

Before heading to our final destination, we will be taking a short break in CA! I think it’d be nice to sit in a park in San Francisco and make some monkeys. It’s only been a week since I stopped making anything and I can’t wait to get back into it.

If there are any crafty folks out there who’d like to meet for a lunch or a drink let me know! I will be in San Francisco the 2nd or 3rd week of May. Maybe we could do a craft/make in the park type thing. :D

Yay! I managed to put together the sixth Maribel Made Twit Finds. Things are a bit hectic over here because I’m moving. Country moves are epic, but it’s a good thing our flat came furnished. You might see a bit of a change in my blogging in the next month or so until things get a bit settled, but I’m going to try very hard to keep you all up to date on what’s going on. For now, I hope you enjoy my Twit Finds. :)
